About Us
TherapyWorks is a husband-and-wife group practice that focuses on serious depression and the issues that commonly surround it—such as suicidality, grief, anxiety, and substance use. Perhaps surprisingly, we don’t do couples counseling together. Instead, we team up to cover the lifespan of depression and other issues, with Brandy seeing mostly children and adolescents and Brion seeing mostly adults and seniors.
We both use interventions that are grounded in theory and backed by evidence. And we both make particular use of a therapy called DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). But we also know that therapy is a special kind of healing relationship more than a set of techniques. That’s why we can have different approaches and still get results for our clients. If you can form the kind of theraputic realtionship that permits you to explore your issues with real honesty, with either of us, you can and will find a new way forward.

We offer both virtual and in-person sessions to ensure that you have a safe place to explore and heal.
400 Vestavia Pkwy, Suite 400, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216
Our Vestavia office is conveniently located near the intersection of Highway 31 and I-65.
Traveling either direction on Hwy 31, turn onto Vestavia Parkway next to Milo’s. Go up the hill past Mountain Top Church until you see the Walker Building Sign. Turn left into the parking lot just past the Walker Building Sign. If you see a building with “300” on the roof, you have gone too far.
Inside the Walker building, take the elevator to the 4th floor. TherapyWorks is inside the Practice Works complex of offices. You will see the Practice Works sign to the left when you exit the elevator. Head that way and have a seat in the waiting area.
“It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else.”
— Erma Bombeck
We appreciate the strength it takes to reach out for therapy. It takes courage to show our vulnerabilities to anyone, even a professional counselor. And it takes even more bravery to admit what our true hopes and dreams are for our life. But your courage is the first step towards healing, and if you take it, we will be excited to participate in your progress.
